What's in the box: Each mailing was a playable vinyl postcard with music from an emerging indie artist.

Vinyl Post has closed and no longer takes subscribers or sends new mailings. It ran for nine years, starting in 2017. In that time it pressed music by emerging indie artists onto playable vinyl postcards and mailed them to subscribers in the US. The idea was simple and unusual: you put a postcard on your turntable, dropped the needle and heard an artist you probably had not found yet. The project was run by Josh, whose indie music curation continues at BIRP.fm. The company says the final postcards, including any prepaid months, went out at the end of July 2026, so every subscription has been fully delivered. All subscriptions have been cancelled, and no more charges should happen. If you were a subscriber and have a question about a final delivery or a charge, contact support@vinylpost.co. Josh has said Vinyl Post might come back in a new form someday, but there is no date or plan. For now there is nothing to sign up for. If you mainly liked the music discovery, BIRP.fm still publishes monthly indie playlists, though nothing arrives in your mailbox. Postcards that people already own are still a playable keepsake from a small independent project.
