What's in the box: One album each month on vinyl, pressed in a color variant made only for Secretly Society members.
Secretly Society is the record club run by the Secretly store, home of the Secretly Group labels behind artists such as Japanese Breakfast, Sharon Van Etten and MUNA. The idea is simple: one album a month, pressed in a color variant made only for members, with shipping included in the subscription price. Plans are sold as prepaid terms of 3 months ($80), 6 months ($130) or 12 months ($240). The longer terms bring the cost down to about $20 per record. Recent picks show the range: Jens Lekman, Hayley Williams, Hatchie, Scowl, Chanel Beads, Avalon Emerson & The Charm and a reissue from The Lijadu Sisters. That covers indie rock, pop, electronic music and archival releases. Every title comes from the label family's own catalog, though, so this is not a broad curation service. Members also get access to members only items, early access to some limited products and sales, and guest list spots when available. None of the listed plans is month to month, and the site does not say whether you can skip or swap a month. If you already like what these labels put out, this is an easy way to collect exclusive pressings at a fair price. If you want records from many different labels, look elsewhere.
