Zavvi ZBOX

Closed.Discontinued at an unknown date; the latest reviews found cover late 2018.

What's in the box: A monthly themed mystery box with a ZBOX t-shirt and four to seven pieces of memorabilia from film, TV and gaming franchises.

ZBOX from Zavvi is no longer running, even though a page for it still exists on Zavvi's site. Zavvi is a UK online retailer of film, TV, gaming and pop culture merchandise, and it ran ZBOX as a monthly mystery box for fans of geek franchises. Each month had a theme, and you didn't know what was inside until the box arrived. Subscribers could pay monthly or sign up for 3, 6 or 12 months. Every box came with a t-shirt designed only for ZBOX, plus between four and seven other items from popular film, TV and video game franchises. Most of the appeal was the surprise and the exclusive shirt. As with most mystery boxes, whether you liked a given month depended mostly on whether you cared about its theme. To cancel, you had to contact Zavvi's customer service team, and you could only do it during set windows tied to each month's despatch. Zavvi has not said when ZBOX ended, and reviews of it mostly stop around late 2018. Don't expect a box to arrive if a subscribe option still shows up. If you want Zavvi's exclusive merchandise today, buying single items from its main shop is the practical option.
