Ownership. Unilever bought a majority stake in Nutrafol in May/June 2022.
What's in the box: A regular supply of daily hair growth supplement capsules in the formula that fits your life stage, with optional kits that add more hair care products.
Nutrafol sells hair growth supplements built on the idea that thinning hair has several root causes, including hormones, stress, nutrition, metabolism, lifestyle and aging. Instead of one formula for everyone, it splits its range by life stage, with separate products for women 18 to 44, women 45 and up, postpartum women, and men. A short quiz on the site suggests a formula, and newer bundles such as the Fullest Hair Kit and the Stronger, Longer Hair Set add more products to the routine. Unilever bought a majority stake in 2022, so this is a mainstream, well funded brand rather than a small startup. Nutrafol points to a 6-month clinical study of its women's formula and says it is NSF Certified for Sport, which means the product is tested for banned substances and checked for label accuracy. That certification shows good quality control, but it does not prove the product grows hair. You will need patience. The brand says early changes take three to six months, and its money back promise only applies after six months of use. That is a long commitment for a result that is not guaranteed. Supplements will not suit everyone, so anyone with significant hair loss, a health condition, or who is pregnant or nursing should check with a doctor first.
