Closed.Master of Malt ended the Dram Club whisky subscription and replaced it with Pour & Sip, but the gin, rum and other Dram Club tiers kept running; date not found.
What's in the box: When it ran, each delivery held several small sample bottles of different whiskies for tasting at home.
The whisky tier of Master of Malt's Dram Club has closed, so you can no longer sign up for this box. Master of Malt, a large UK online spirits retailer, replaced it with a subscription called Pour & Sip. The gin, rum and other Dram Club tiers carried on. The site does not say when the whisky tier ended. While it ran, members got regular deliveries of small sample bottles of different whiskies instead of full bottles. That let them taste across styles and regions without paying for a whole bottle of each one. The club fitted the retailer's wider focus on sampling, which continues today with tasting sets and a 'sample before you buy' option next to a range of more than 16,000 bottles. The club's main appeal was variety and discovery. Its main weakness was the small pour size, which gives you a first impression of a whisky but not a deep familiarity with it. If you liked the format, you can still buy tasting sets on the main site. This whisky club is gone, though, and Pour & Sip should be judged on its own merits rather than on the old Dram Club's reputation.
