Ownership. Acquired by HelloFresh in December 2020 for up to $277 million and still offers keto meals.
What's in the box: A weekly delivery of single serving meals you pick from a rotating menu, fully cooked and ready to reheat, with optional breakfasts, smoothies and snacks.
Factor delivers fully prepared meals that arrive fresh, not frozen, and heat in about two minutes. HelloFresh has owned it since late 2020. It is still one of the better known choices for people on keto or low carb diets because it has a keto meal plan alongside its broader menu. The weekly menu is large, with more than 100 rotating meals plus breakfasts, smoothies, snacks and a long list of add-ons. The meals are built around proteins like filet mignon, salmon, sea bass and shrimp, and some use low carb swaps such as cauliflower grits. Factor says dietitians design the meals and that they contain no refined sugars. Low carb shoppers should know that the general menu is not keto by default. Many dishes include whole grains, quinoa or fruit, so stick to the keto plan or check each meal's nutrition before you order. The main appeal is convenience. There is no shopping, cooking or cleanup, and you can skip, pause or cancel at any time. The site currently promotes 50% off plus free breakfast for a year, so read the terms to see what you will pay once the introductory offer ends. Reheated single portions will not suit everyone. Still, for busy people who want carb controlled meals without planning, Factor is a solid and dependable choice.
