What's in the box: When it ran, a box held several curly hair products such as shampoos, conditioners, leave-ins, creams, gels and mousses, often built around one featured brand.

Curls Allowed has closed down and no longer runs its curly hair subscription box, so there is nothing to sign up for. The UK service focused on products for curls, coils and waves. Its past boxes were named after the month they went out, such as a June, December, April and August box. Several of them appear to have centred on a single brand or product line, for example a Jessicurl box, a Curl Flo Hydrate Hero box and a Giovanni Ultra Volume box. Brands that featured over time included Jessicurl, Curl Flo, Giovanni, Mielle Organics, SofnFree, Organic Shop and Fix My Curls. While closing, the site has been selling a final Farewell Box, described as holding at least five curly hair products from past boxes. It has also been clearing individual products left over from earlier boxes at reduced prices. Much of that stock is already marked out of stock, and anything left is a one-off clearance purchase rather than an ongoing subscription. The site does not say how long the remaining items will be available or how existing subscriber accounts are being handled. If you want a working curly hair box, you will need to look elsewhere.
