Comic Block is no longer operating. The nerdblock.com website does not load, and its parent company, Nerd Block, shut down and went bankrupt around June 2017. Comic Block was one of several themed boxes from Nerd Block, a Canadian subscription company that also sold boxes built around horror, sci-fi, gaming and general geek culture. While it ran, Comic Block was a recurring box for comic fans that combined comic books with themed collectibles and merchandise. Its appeal was the surprise: subscribers got items tied to popular comic properties that they might not have picked out themselves. The closure was abrupt, and reports at the time described subscribers who were left without boxes they had already paid for. That is a useful reminder for anyone weighing a surprise box that bills in advance. A different company relaunched the Nerd Block name in 2018, but it is a separate business. Do not assume the original Comic Block is available or connected to anything sold today unless you confirm it directly. If you want a monthly comics or collectibles box now, look for services that are actively shipping and have clear terms, a working website and a visible track record. Today Comic Block is part of subscription box history, not something you can buy.
