Manga Spice Cafe

What's in the box: Each box is built around a monthly manga theme, though the site does not spell out the exact item mix on its main pages.

Manga Spice Cafe is a US focused subscription box built around manga, with each shipment tied to a monthly theme. The current theme gets its own page, and there is an archive of past boxes, which is the best place to get a sense of what a typical shipment holds before you commit. The service also runs a separate shop, a rewards program, a newsletter and a blog, so it is clearly set up for ongoing fans rather than one time buyers. What the site does not make clear up front is pricing, plan lengths, shipping terms or exactly which items go into each box. You will need to work through the subscribe page and the FAQ to find those details. If you are hoping for specific series or full manga volumes in every box, confirm that before signing up. The brand calls itself the number one manga subscription box, but that is its own claim and not something we can verify. Support is available through a listed contact email and a Twitter account, which is fairly standard for a niche box. Overall, Manga Spice Cafe looks like a focused option for readers who enjoy themed surprises, but the limited upfront detail means you should do some homework before paying.
