Brick Borrow

What's in the box: Each delivery is a complete LEGO or LEGO DUPLO set you choose from the library, posted to you to build and then return for a swap.

Brick Borrow is a UK rental service for genuine LEGO sets, so members borrow sets instead of buying them. Members pick sets from a library the company says holds more than 1,000 options. The sets arrive by Royal Mail Tracked 48, and once built they can be sent back whenever the household is ready for something new. The site says plans start from £9.99 a month. Full plan details sit on a separate pricing page and are not covered here. The appeal is easy to see. LEGO is expensive, children often build a set once and then lose interest, and finished models take up shelf space. Borrowing lets families try far more sets than they would sensibly buy, with less clutter at home. The range covers both LEGO and LEGO DUPLO, with selected sets suitable from 18 months, so it can suit younger and older builders in the same house. The trade off is that nothing is yours to keep. Builders who like to display finished models, or who want to grow their own collection of bricks, may find sending sets back frustrating. Families should also check the terms on missing or lost pieces before signing up. Brick Borrow is an independent company and is not endorsed by the LEGO Group. Overall it is a sensible, well focused idea for households that build often.
