Its current themed boxes include Chill & Cook, built around camp cooking, relaxing and sleeping outside, and City to Serenity, which it describes as gear for city life, air travel and adventure in all four seasons. After the first order, members fill out a profile, and later boxes are picked based on their interests and the season. The listed member price is $149.99 per box, and the company says each box has a retail value of $200 or more. Promotional codes were also advertised when we reviewed the site. Members can skip or cancel on their own through their account and only pay for boxes that ship. If you want to try the service without subscribing, one-time bundles cost $39.99 and the company says they hold $50 or more in gear. The Nomadik says it features new products from smaller brands, not overstock or closeouts, and each box includes ideas for outdoor activities. The main caveat is that the value depends on whether you would use the items picked for you. The company sets the retail value figures itself, and a quarterly box at this price is a real commitment. The self-serve account controls and the low-cost bundle make it easy to try.
