What's in the box: When it operated, Tasting Room sent tasting kits of small sample bottles, followed by full bottles chosen from your ratings.

Tasting Room no longer runs as its own service, and tastingroom.com now redirects to Firstleaf, a separate wine club. When it was running, Tasting Room was best known for tasting kits of small sample bottles. You could try several wines at home and rate them before committing to full bottles. Your ratings then shaped which wines it recommended and shipped, so you got guidance instead of buying blind. That original sampler format is not offered at the old address. The redirect takes you to Firstleaf's club, which works on a similar idea. You answer a taste quiz, receive wines chosen for you, rate them, and later shipments are adjusted based on those ratings. Firstleaf describes shipping every 2 to 12 weeks, easy changes or cancellation, pairing and tasting notes for each bottle, and a guarantee that replaces a wine you dislike in your next order. Those are Firstleaf's terms, not Tasting Room's. The site does not say whether old Tasting Room accounts, credits or orders carried over. If you had an active Tasting Room membership, contact Firstleaf support about your account. If you want a personalized wine club, judge Firstleaf on its own merits as a different service, not as a continuation of Tasting Room.
