Ownership. PitchBook lists Pong Cheese as acquired and running as a subsidiary, but the buyer and date are not public.

What's in the box: A curated selection of British and European cheeses, with the total weight shown for each box and themed options ranging from mild introductory picks to strong, pungent cheeses.

Pong Cheese is a UK online cheesemonger that sells curated cheese gift boxes and a monthly subscription called The Cheese Club. Most of the range is ready-made boxes, and each one lists its weight. Examples include the Explorer Box (565g), the Connoisseur Box (650g) and the Ultimate Pong Box, which the site describes as its strongest and smelliest selection. You can also build your own box: choose three cheeses and you get a fourth free. Seasonal lines include Christmas boxes and Vacherin Mont d'Or. A partnership with Haute Fromagerie adds European cheeses from France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Norway and the Netherlands.

The Cheese Club is listed at £24.00 a month, and the first box costs £12 with a 50% off introductory offer. Delivery is £5.95, or free on orders over £50. You can choose your delivery date, which is useful for perishable gifts. Product ratings on the site are mostly high, but they are the retailer's own reviews.

The homepage does not say how many cheeses come in each monthly box or how cancellation works, so check both before you subscribe. The company is reported as acquired and run as a subsidiary, but the buyer has not been made public. Overall it is a simple, cheese-focused service with good gifting options, not a broad charcuterie box.
