Plant In The Box

What's in the box: Usually one live houseplant in a nursery pot, such as a snake plant, monstera or money tree, sent with a personal gift message.

Plant In The Box is mainly a plant gifting shop that also offers plant subscriptions. You pick a live houseplant, add a gift message, and have it shipped to someone's door anywhere in the continental US. The range sticks to popular, forgiving houseplants such as a braided money tree, monstera, snake plant, spider plant, olive tree, calathea and Christmas cactus. Several are marked as pet friendly, which helps if the person getting the gift has cats or dogs. Plants arrive in nursery pots, so plan on buying a decorative planter if you want a finished look. The site promises an Arrive Safe Guarantee and free shipping on larger orders. You can choose a delivery date, which is handy for timing a birthday or housewarming gift. There is also a bundle option and a corporate gifting program. The subscription itself is less clear. The site does not explain plan lengths, how plants are chosen each cycle, or whether care guides, soil or accessories come with them. If you want terrarium kits or hands-on care coaching, this works more like a gift store than a hobby club. Alaska and Hawaii are not covered. For a reliable live plant gift that takes little effort, it is a solid choice.
