What's in the box: In the past, members got a few stylist-picked casual menswear pieces from the house label each month, such as shirts, pants and outer layers.
Menlo Club started out as Five Four Club, a Los Angeles men's clothing subscription. The idea was that a stylist would pick a few coordinated pieces each month so members could skip shopping. It was meant for guys who wanted to look put together without much effort. The house brand stuck mostly to casual, modern basics such as tees, button ups, chinos and light jackets. Right now, though, things don't look good. The menloclub.com address loads a domain parking page that offers the name for sale. There is no store, sign up form, account login or customer service contact on it. Nothing on the site suggests that boxes are still shipping or that new members can join. If you were a member, check your card statements for any leftover charges, and call your bank if you can't reach the company. If you're a new shopper, wait until the brand has a working website with clear terms again. Until then, a styling service with an active storefront is the safer pick. We'll update this rating if Menlo Club comes back with a functioning site.
