What's in the box: When it ran, a typical box held an assortment of Korean skincare and makeup products, often built around a theme such as a skin concern or product category.
Memebox no longer runs a subscription box service. It closed its US e-commerce and box offerings in May 2017. While it was running, Memebox shipped curated boxes of Korean beauty products to US subscribers. The boxes mixed skincare items like sheet masks, serums and creams with makeup, often from smaller Korean brands that were hard to find in American stores at the time. Many boxes had a theme, such as a specific skin concern or product type. That made them an easy way to try K-beauty before it became widely available in the US. Today the memebox.com address opens a Korean-language store for I'M MEME, a makeup line from the same parent company, Memebox Co. The shop sells regular products like multi-use sticks, stick shadows, eyeshadow palettes, blush palettes and lip tints. It also links to sister brands Pony Effect, KAJA, Nooni and I Dew Care. This is an ordinary online store aimed mainly at shoppers in Korea, and the site does not offer any subscription or box plan. If you want a K-beauty box, choose a service that is shipping now. Memebox is worth remembering as an early K-beauty box, but you can no longer sign up for it.
