What's in the box: A box held a stylist-selected set of baby or toddler clothing pieces, often from independent brands, that families could keep or return.
Mac & Mia is no longer operating. The company shut down in July 2019, and its website now shows only a default server page with no shop or account access. When it was running, Mac & Mia was a personal styling service for children's clothing, aimed mainly at parents of babies and young kids in the US. Parents filled out a style profile covering their child's size, preferences and the look they liked. A stylist then put together a box of clothing pieces, often from smaller and independent brands that were harder to find in big chain stores. Families could try everything on at home, keep the items they wanted and send back the rest. The appeal was convenience for busy parents and access to more distinctive clothing than typical mall options. The model also had real drawbacks. Boutique labels usually cost more than mass market children's clothing, and babies outgrow clothes quickly, which made premium pieces harder to justify for some families. Shoppers who come across the name today should know there is nothing to sign up for and no customer support. Anyone looking for a similar experience will need to choose a different, currently operating children's clothing styling service.
