Little Box of Crochet is a UK monthly subscription that sends a complete crochet project in each box, with a different guest designer behind each kit. The contents are kept secret, so you find out what you are making when the parcel arrives. The website lists the kit at £35.99 including VAT, plus postage of £4.50 for the UK, £10.50 for the EU and £17 for the rest of the world. Payment is taken on the 3rd of each month. To get the next kit, you need to sign up by the 15th of the month before. Boxes go by Royal Mail, with tracking where the destination country allows it, and buyers outside the UK may have to pay import duty. If you miss a month, sold out kits are often available as PDF patterns. There is also a Mystery Box of leftover materials, and some past kits are sold as one-off purchases. Because the designer changes every month, you get variety and may end up trying techniques you would not normally pick. On the downside, the price is fairly high once postage is added, especially overseas, and you cannot choose the project in advance.
