Kalahari Snacks sells biltong, the South African style of air-dried beef, and presents it as an alternative to American jerky. Biltong is traditionally cured with vinegar and spices and dried in air rather than cooked with heat, so its texture and flavor differ from most jerky. The brand says it was started by friends who discovered biltong while racing an Ironman and an ultramarathon in South Africa. The lineup is small. Flavors are Original, Spicy Peri Peri, Rosemary Truffle, Garlic and Chili Lime. They come in 2oz bags, sold singly or in 3, 5 and 10 packs. There are also variety packs (a 5 pack, a spicy 3-pack and an herb 3-pack) and a whole Original slab you slice yourself. That is enough variety to keep a regular order interesting without being overwhelming. The main pages do not explain how recurring delivery works. They do not say how often orders ship, how to skip or cancel, or whether subscribing changes the price, so check the product pages before you commit. The store is also posting a notice that orders may be delayed because a weather-related event has affected its operations. If you already like biltong or want a simple meat snack order you can repeat, it is a reasonable choice.
