Julep Maven is no longer running. Julep ended the subscription program on February 15, 2019, after its parent company, Glansaol, went bankrupt. While it ran, Maven was a monthly beauty box from Julep, a Seattle brand best known for its nail polish. Members could usually preview each month's selection, swap items to customize their box, or skip a month. The boxes leaned heavily on Julep's own polishes, along with nail care, makeup and skincare products. That flexibility appealed to people who wanted some say in what arrived. However, every box held only Julep products, so it offered less variety than beauty subscriptions that mix many brands. The Julep website is still live, but it is now a regular online makeup shop, not a subscription. It focuses on eye makeup: crème to powder eyeshadow sticks, eyeshadow trios grouped by eye color, mascara, gel eyeliner pencils and brow pencils. It also offers value sets and a shade quiz. The brand calls itself a fuss free line rooted in Korean beauty. If you want a recurring beauty box, Julep Maven is not an option, and nothing suggests it will come back. If you liked its products, you can still buy single items from the Julep site, but for monthly deliveries you will need a different service.
