Japan Candy Box (Blippo)

What's in the box: Lucky bags mix Japanese candy, snacks or kawaii goods such as plush, gachapon toys and character items, depending on the bag you choose.

Snack fans know Blippo for its Japan Candy Box, but the site now presents itself mainly as a kawaii shop shipping directly from Japan. The front page leads with Sanrio goods, backpacks, stationery, clothing and accessories. Candy and snacks are one category among many. The site does not prominently offer a recurring monthly candy subscription, so if you want a classic auto-renewing box, check before you buy. The closest thing is the lucky bag range. These are mystery bundles such as the Blippo Candy Rescue Bag at US$25.90, a Gachapon Lucky Bag at US$35.00, a Kawaii Mixed Lucky Bag at US$45.00 and a Plush Lucky Bag at US$75.00. Some licensed bags, like the Pokemon and Pompompurin ones, show as sold out. The snack selection looks genuinely Japanese and fairly specific, with Suppaiman ume candy, Tengu curry snacks, Chururin jelly and regional gummies sold individually. The store says it carries more than 2,900 products and offers free shipping on orders of US$100 or more. Many items show sale prices. Blippo is a good source for Japanese treats and cute goods, but it works more like a shop with surprise bags than a dependable monthly box.
