Freshly is no longer operating. The company stopped home delivery in January 2022, sent its final shipments on January 21 of that year, and its website now returns a page not found error. Owned by Nestlé, Freshly sold a weekly subscription of fully prepared, single-serving meals delivered across the US. Unlike traditional meal kits, it involved no chopping or cooking. Meals arrived chilled rather than frozen in an insulated box, and they were meant to be reheated in a microwave in a few minutes and eaten from the tray. Subscribers chose how many meals they wanted each week from a rotating menu that leaned toward hearty comfort food, along with lighter and higher-protein options. The main appeal was convenience: a ready-to-eat lunch or dinner with very little effort or cleanup. The tradeoffs were the usual ones for microwaved prepared meals, including textures that could suffer on reheating, little room to adjust seasoning or portions, and a fair amount of packaging per meal. Because the service has shut down, there is nothing to order, and old accounts or saved links will not work.
