What's in the box: The site does not say what a subscription box contains, though the shop itself sells pens, inks, refills, notebooks and art supplies.
Cult Pens is a well-established UK stationery retailer based in Tiverton, Devon. It is best known for a very large catalogue of pens, pencils, inks, refills, notebooks, diaries and art supplies. The shop says it stocks more than 30,000 items, from everyday brush pens and bottled ink up to luxury fountain pens from brands such as Pelikan and Montblanc. Most orders placed before 3pm are dispatched the same day.
The problem for subscription shoppers is that the site does not clearly offer a recurring subscription box. There is no visible plan, delivery schedule or sign-up page for a monthly box, and the site does not say what a box would cost or contain. The nearest thing is a seasonal stationery advent calendar, which you buy once rather than subscribe to. If you want a regular surprise parcel, ask Cult Pens directly before assuming one is available.
The shop does well on range and expertise. Its staff are known for their enthusiasm about pens. The Penorama newsletter is a useful way to hear about new arrivals and offers, and the site also lists a loyalty scheme called Pen Pals. You can reach support by phone or email during UK weekday hours.
Cult Pens is an excellent place to buy stationery, but it is a weak choice if you specifically want a true subscription box.
