Brandless has shut down and its website no longer loads, so you can't place an order. When it was running, Brandless was a US online store, launched in 2018, that sold its own unbranded line of pantry staples, snacks, cooking basics, and household and personal care goods. The idea was simple: drop the big name labels and the markup that comes with them, and sell plain packaged goods at uniform, low prices. Many of the food items were labeled organic or non-GMO. The packaging was deliberately minimal, with labels that listed key attributes instead of telling a brand story. Shoppers picked items from the catalog to build their own box rather than receiving a curated assortment. The company also offered an optional paid membership with extra perks. Brandless got a lot of early attention and investment but had trouble making the model work, and it closed its original operation in 2020. The name was later revived under new ownership, but no version of the store can be reached now. If you liked the idea, look for an active grocery delivery service or the store brand line at a retailer you already use. Before you pay for any alternative, check that it is currently shipping.
