What's in the box: A box typically held a handful of editor-selected beauty products, mostly skincare with some makeup, hair care or fragrance, in deluxe sample and full sizes.

Allure Beauty Box is not currently operating. Its website at beautybox.allure.com no longer loads, and we could not confirm that any subscriptions or shipments are still available. When it ran, it was a monthly beauty sampling box tied to Allure, the long-running US beauty magazine. Allure editors chose or endorsed the products in each box, and short notes explained why each item was included. Boxes leaned toward skincare but also included makeup, hair care and sometimes fragrance, with a mix of deluxe samples and some full-size items. If you trusted the magazine's product testing, it was an easy way to try what the editors recommended. The downside, common to sampling boxes, was limited personalization. Subscribers usually got the same or similar products, so not every item suited every skin type or preference. Because the site is down, we cannot check its current terms or pricing, or see how remaining subscriptions and customer service requests are being handled. Former subscribers should check their bank or card statements for recurring charges and contact Allure or its parent company directly if needed. We do not recommend trying to sign up. If you want a skincare box, look at services that are still active.
