Paused. The fixed quarterly subscription went on hiatus after ADABOX 022 (Fall 2025), and Adafruit lists a membership model called Club AdaBox as coming soon.
What's in the box: Past boxes typically held an Adafruit development board with matching components and accessories, built around a set of guided projects.
AdaBox is not running as a regular subscription right now. The fixed quarterly box from Adafruit went on hiatus after ADABOX 022 in Fall 2025, and Adafruit lists its replacement, Club AdaBox, as coming soon. While it ran, AdaBox shipped a themed electronics kit every quarter. Each kit was built around Adafruit hardware and came with project guides from the company's learning site. Each box was a limited run. Adafruit says parts shortages, shifting tariffs and scarce components made a quarterly calendar hard to keep. Club AdaBox will work differently. It is an annual membership that renews automatically unless you cancel renewal, and it pays only for early access. When a new box is ready, members get an email with its price and a members only purchase window, and they can buy it or skip it. Boxes cost extra. Membership does not reserve a box or guarantee stock, and there is no fixed release schedule. At launch it covers only the United States. The site does not state the membership price. If you were an AdaBox Classic subscriber with a gift or prepaid boxes, Adafruit asks you to email its support team. We suggest waiting until the new model is running and its costs are clear before you consider it.
